Chandler, AZ
Rounds 3 and 4 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, (LOORRS) will take place at the Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park under the lights in Chandler, Arizona April 24-25. Roberts Racing will be there with two race entries; Dale Dondel will be behind the wheel of the #33 Pro Buggy and Mike Dondel will be piloting the #14 Pro-2 truck. CJ Greaves, who typically drives the #33 Pro Buggy, will be busy defending his TORC series Pro-2 Championship in Texas the same weekend. Dale Dondel will take the helm of the #33 for Roberts Racing in CJ’s absence. Mike Dondel is anxious to get back on the track in his Roberts Racing Pro-2 after being sidelined in Lake Elsinore due to an unexpected engine failure.
The Wild Horse track is distinguished by the split, two lane section leading into the main straightaway. Drivers are forced to commit to either the top line or the bottom as they exit turn four. The wide turn quickly funnels into two narrow lines; it usually ends poorly for those who are indecisive. The track also includes a huge ski jump, a step-up and several steep table tops that create tons of high flying action. The Pro Buggies will be banging wheels and the Pro-2 trucks will have deposited a huge pile of shattered body parts by the time the weekend is over.
